Jake was born on December 8, 1920 at Usborne Twp.
He enlisted in the RCAF at Hamilton on February 22, 1942.
He trained at: #1 Manning Depot, Toronto; Guard Duty, Aylmer; #5 ITS, Belleville; #9 B&G, Mont Joli.
He was awarded his Air Gunner on December 1942 at Mont Joli.
He was posted overseas to #3 PRC, Bournemouth on February 1943.
He trained at #27 OTU, Litchfield and Conversion Unit, Glighton.
He was posted to #460 Squadron, RAAF, 1 Group, Bomber Command.

He was demobbed from the RCAF in 1945.

In September 1946 he married Wilma Jean Hamilton and they raised 4 sons and have 9 grandchildren.
Jake retired in 1985 after 32 years as an Ambulance Attendant and Funeral Director.
