Ted was born on November 26, 1921 at Toronto, Ontario.
He attended High School in Muskoka.
He enlisted in the RCAF at Toronto in 1942.  #1 Manning Depot, Toronto and #9 B&G Mont Joli where he received his Air Gunner wing in February, 1943.
He was posted overseas to #3 PRC Bournemouth, then on to Honeybourne and Topcliffe. Posted to #408 Squadron at Leeming, Linton-on-Ouse. #6 Group Bomber Command (Cdn)
His crew consisted of Pilot - Les Morrison, RAAF; NAV - Allan Wright; BA - Clayton MacLachlan; WOP - Alexander Dumbbell; FE - Thomas Reynolds; MUG - William Heaton; RG - Edward Salmon
On a trip to Hanover, received a bombload from another aircraft. 1 engine out, all perspex from rear turret gone. Flaps were locked and ailerons, nearly all gone. Landed at a base in the south of England. Missed my bacon and eggs.
Shot down December 20, 1943. Joined underground next day at Diest, East of Brussels. In Brussels four days later stayed at various houses, the last house, people engaged in sabotage. One was captured, the house surrounded, middle of February. In St. Giles prison till May 12th.
I was taken to interrogation camp, Dulag Luft. Later sent to Stalag Luft 6, Heydekrug. Moved to Thorn, in Poland and eventually to 357 at Folling Bostel. Released while on the march, May 1945.
Ted was demobbed at Toronto in October, 1945.
He attended “Electrician Trade School. and was a Electrician at Steel Company of Canada.
