Harry was born on June 21, 1923 at Biggar, Saskatoon.
He was educated in Sasketchewan to Grade XII and then in August, 1942 at Saskatoon he enlisted in the RCAF.
He was posted to Manning Depot at Brandon; Paulson, Manitoba; Moose Jaw; ITS Saskatoon;
 EFTS at Edmonton(Tiger Moths); SFTS at McLeod, Alta. (Ansons) received his Wings Oct. 1942.

He was posted from Halifax to the UK arriving in November, 1942. Then to #22 EFTS, Cambridge (Tiger Moths)
#15 AFU (Oxfords); #23 OTU Pershore(Wellingtons); #1659 HCU Topcliffe (Halifax)
He was posted to #427 Squadron RCAF, 6 Group, Bomber Command.
His crew consisted of M.M. Price (Navigator); S. Machett(FE); S.W.Danks (WOP/AG); W.Poohkay (BA);
P.Lebel (Rear AG).
Harry recalls several ops which stand out - especially ops to Hamburg, July 24, 27 and 29, 1943, when he says that the local defences were practically overwhelmed by the first use of “window”.
Harry left the RCAF at Winnipeg on August 29, 1945.
Harry joined TCA/Air Canada in 1945 and served as a pilot until June 30, 1983. He started as a First Officer on Lancastrians, then on North Stars and DC3s. Promoted to Captain in 1951 on DC3s, North Stars, Viscounts,
Vanguards and latterly on DC8s.
Harry and Geraldine have a daughter, Susan and two sons, James and Kenneth.

Have been enjoying retirement since 1983.
