Wib was born on September 16, 1921 at Reston, Manitoba. He received his senior matriculation and had one year at college when he decided to join the RCAF at Regina in June, 1942. He did his training at Brandon, Saskatoon,
Prince Albert and Halifax. He received his Pilot Wing at Saskatoon on August 20, 1943.
He was posted overseas in September, 1943 and trained at Shawbury, Shrewsbury, Wrexham, Wellsbourne Mountford and Topcliffe.
He was posted to #433 Squadron at Skipton-on-Swale. He acted as commander of “A” and “B” flights at various times.

Wib was demobbed at Winnipeg on June 6, 1945 with the rank of Squadron Leader.
Wib had several sales management positions in retail, wholesale and publishing prior to joining Sears in 1953 on their entry into Canada with Simpsons Ltd. Spent 20 years with Sears as department store manager and retired in 1982 as Retail Operating Superintendent - Eastern Region
Married in June 1946 and they have one son. July 01/01
