George MacMillan Frost was born on February 24, 1922 in Toronto, Ontario.
He attended Leslie Street Public School, Riverdale Collegiate, St.Andrews College and McGill University.
He joined the RCAF on April 24, 1942. Guard Duty at Long Branch, #1 Initial Training School at Toronto then to
#20 Elementary Flying Training School at Oshawa, #13 Service Flying Training School at St. Huberts, Que.
and there he received his Pilot Wing and then to #31 GRS at Charlotetown and then posted to #1 Y Depot at Halifax for overseas posting.
Arrived at #3 PRC in Bournemouth England on the 11/12/43. Posted to RAF Waitley Bay, Back to Bournemouth
for a week and then to RAF Bircham Newton for two months and from there to # 14 (P) Advance Flying Unit at
Banff for about three months (18/4/44 - 5/7/44). Next posting was to 225 Squadron at Castle Archdale and Pembroke Dock. BABS at Squires Gate and then to 422 Sqdn at Pem Dock and Bassingbourn,(24/7/45)
“Monk” was demobed in Toronto in 1945.
He started his civilian life by selling Life Insurance, then into the heating business and building houses. He built the Club House for Cedar Brae Golf Club on Steeles Ave and stayed in the Golf business and has never looked back as the present owner of “Spring Lakes Golf Course”
He married Elizabeth Louise Pratt in June 1951. They had two children, Robert George born Oct 22/52 and he was killed on March 2, 1975 in a snowmobile acciden. A daughter Cynthia Louise born June 18, 1955.
