Don was born in Montreal on the 21st of October 1921. He attended High School in Montreal and then General Insurance training with the Continental Insurance Company of New York.
He enlisted in the RCAF on August 27 1942 at Montreal.
He did his ITS at Toronto, his elementary flying at #11 EFTS at Cap de la Madeleine and his SFTS at St. Hubert where he received his Pilotís Wing on November 26, 1943.
He was posted overseas and arrived at  #3 RCAF PRC Innsworth, Glos., England on June 11, 1944.

His advanced training took place at #1 OTU Bagotville; #1 CACTR Camp Borden (Army Camp); #36 OTU
Greenwood, Nova Scotia; #71 (Middle East) OTU Ismailia, Egypt; #5 RFU Italy.
He was then posted to #417 Squadron (City of Windsor)

General insurance business. Past President Toronto Insurance Conference; First President and Chairman, Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario. Retired as Senior Vice President and Director, Morris & Mackenzie Inc. national insurance brokers.
Active 33 degree member of Supreme Council of Freemasonry; Member, Order of Scotland; Past Peopleís Churchwarden, All Saints Anglican Church, Kingsway, Etobicoke; Long Service Medal, Boy Scouts of Cananda

Married to Elizabeth, they have two children, Alan and Jo-Anne, five grandchildren and four great grand children
