Dick was born at Ste. Agathe des Monts, Quebec on November 9, 1921. His background was Clerical work.
He enlisted in the RCAF at Montreal on August 5, 1941. He trained at #1 ITS, St. Thomas; #3 ITS, Victoriaville; #4 B&G, Fingal. He was awarded his Flight Engineer at St. Athan Wales in October 1944.
He was posted overseas in July 1944.
He trained at #1666 HCU, Wombleton, Yorks and then posted to #431 Squadron, Croft, 6 Group.
His crew consisted of: Pilot - Wes B.Hodson (Vancouver); Navigator - Wally Glowa Sask.; BA A.F. Warehime Alt WOP - R.J. Pemberton, Wales; MUG - C.H.Dawdy, Beamsville; RG - J.C. Sharpe , Fort Erie
Dick was demobbed at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on October 23, 1945
Graduated from McGill with a B.Eng.(Mechanical) in 1951
He married Agnes Thompson, July 1, 1950. Two daughters Brenda Baird and Donna  and two grandchildren Melanie and Jamie.             February 9, 2002
