Don was born on October 1,1930 at Woolwich, England. He had a Technical School background and was an apprentice aircraft engineer.
He enlisted in the RAF on July 22, 1952 at Cardington, Bedfordshire, England. He did his training at Jurby, Isle of Man and Hullavington, Wilts. He received his Navigator Wing at Hullavington in October 1953. He did additional training at #236 OCU, Kinloss, Morayshire, Scotland.
He served at St.Eval, St. Mawgan, Malta and Kinloss. He served on Squadrons: 206, 220, 201, 38 and 42.

Don left the RAF at Kinloss on October 1, 1968.
Joined Air Canada as Navigation Officer on DC8 and Vanguard on January 2, 1969 to April 1975. Pilot training as pilot Boeing 747 until October 1990. Then, Flight Engineer on 747’s Singapore Airlines for one year.
Married to Elizabeth Ann. Children: Martin, Simon, Guy, Jon and Catriona. Sept.4, 2001
