Ron was born on August 2, 1911 in Toronto and died on March 14, 2000 at the age of 89.
He attended North Toronto Collegiate, Central Tech and Toronto Normal School.
He enlisted in the RCAF at Toronto and trained at St. Hubert, Summerside, St. Jeanís ITS; Chatham N.B. and Aylmer, Ontario where he received his Pilotís Wing in June of 1942 and was posted to the UK in August, 1942. In England he trained at #17 AFU Wattam, Norfolk; #3 S. of GR (Navigation), Squires Gate, Blackpool; #61 OTU Rednall (near Chester); Fighter Command - Spitfires; #542 Squadron, Benson - near - Oxford, P.R.; from Benson to Cairo via Spitfire; #74 OTU (P.R.) Lydda, Palestine; from Port Said to Bombay via steamer; from Bombay to Calcutta via train to #681 Squadron PR; Dum Dum, Comilla, Alipore, Chandina; train to Bombay, steamer to UK  (through Mediterranean and North Atlantic)#53 OTU Kerton - in - Lindsey, Lincs,.(Instructor); steamer to Canada.
Ron was Demobbed in Toronto in 1945.
Post-Service he was involved in book-keeping, accountancy. Finance Department, City of Toronto. Chief Cashier, Tax Adjuster, Office Supervisor - District 2, H & R Block.
His first wife deceased and he remarried Ann in 1993. Ron had one son. They have grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Ron was Past President, Civic War Veterans; Treasurer #408/437 Wing, RCAFA; Burma Star Association (1st Canadian Branch); Treasurerm, Ontario Group, RCAFA.
